A Sacred Celebration: Vincent & Allison’s Ordinariate Wedding at Our Lady Queen of Peace

Vincent and Allison’s wedding day was a breathtaking blend of sacred tradition and joyful celebration. Held at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Victoria, BC, their Nuptial Mass followed the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter—a liturgy deeply rooted in reverence, beauty, and continuity with the Church’s tradition.

From the very beginning, their wedding pointed heavenward. Incense rose like prayers, sacred chant filled the church, and the altar was adorned with candles and gold. One of the most moving moments was the Handfasting rite, where the priest wrapped the couple’s joined hands in his stole—a gesture symbolizing their unity before God and His Church.

Their first act as husband and wife? Receiving the Holy Eucharist together. There is nothing quite as powerful as watching a bride and groom kneel before the altar, offering their new life to Christ. The entire Mass was prayerful, solemn, and radiant with sacramental grace.

After the ceremony, we made a short trip to Esquimalt Gorge Park for bride and groom portraits—and it could not have been more perfect. This stunning waterfront park, with its winding trails, tall evergreens, and peaceful views of the Gorge Waterway, offered a serene natural backdrop that felt worlds away from the busyness of the day.

Tucked between heritage trees and Japanese-style bridges, Vincent and Allison had a quiet moment to simply be together. Surrounded by the gentle sounds of water and wind, their joy came through so effortlessly—every glance, every hand held, every laugh was a reminder of the love they share.

This park is one of Victoria’s true hidden gems, and its timeless beauty brought a lovely contrast to the formality of the church and reception spaces. It was the perfect place to slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and capture the intimate moments between husband and wife in the golden light of their wedding day.

After the Mass, the celebration continued at the Victoria Scottish Community Centre—a beautiful, light-filled space with room for laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts. Tables were adorned with classic florals and the joyful spirit of the day overflowed.

Guests were greeted with a joyful and lively atmosphere, made even more memorable by the bagpipe performance that welcomed the bridal party into the reception. The sound of the pipes filled the hall, echoing the couple’s connection to tradition and setting the tone for a heartfelt, joy-filled evening.

Family and friends gathered to share stories, enjoy a delicious meal, and raise glasses to Vincent and Allison’s new life together. The atmosphere was warm, elegant, and full of peace—just like the couple themselves.
